1. Introduction

Welcome to WAEI, a personal finance app that helps you track your expenses, income, and financial plan. The developer of this app ("we", "WAEI") is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law ("PDPL") and its implementing regulations.

By using the app, you acknowledge that your personal data will be processed as described in this policy.

3. Personal Data We Collect

We collect basic account data and financial data you enter manually only — no bank linking, no automatic collection.

a. Account data:

• Name, email address

b. Financial data you enter yourself:

• Expenses, income, investments, budget and financial plan, savings goals, daily streak record

We do not access your bank account and do not collect any financial data automatically — every figure is entered manually by you.

c. Limited technical data:

• Device type and OS, and technical crash logs when an error occurs in the app (see Section 7)

4. Data Sources

All personal and financial data in WAEI comes directly from you through manual entry in the app. We do not obtain your data from any external source or third party.

5. Purposes of Processing

• Create and manage your account and authenticate you
• Display and calculate your financial plan, expenses, income, and investments
• Send savings and expense reminders you have enabled
• Detect and fix technical crashes to improve app stability
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising purposes and do not sell it to any third party.

6. Legal Bases for Processing

• Your explicit consent given when creating your account and accepting this policy
• Necessity to provide the service you requested (tracking your expenses and financial plan)

You may withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account (see Section 14).

7. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your data and do not share it for marketing purposes. We use two technical service providers as "processors":

• Supabase — for database hosting, authentication, and encrypted storage of your financial data
• Sentry — for technical crash tracking to improve app stability (limited technical/device data, not your financial data)

We may disclose limited data if legally required to do so by a competent authority in Saudi Arabia.

8. Cross-Border Data Transfer

Our technical providers host some of your data outside Saudi Arabia. Where cross-border data transfer occurs, we comply with PDPL requirements and the data transfer regulations issued by the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA), including relying on a lawful basis for transfer, applying appropriate safeguards, and limiting transfer to what is necessary to operate the service.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account remains active and you use the app. Upon deleting your account (see Section 14), all your personal and financial data is permanently erased with no additional retention period, unless applicable Saudi law requires us to retain a limited record for a specified period.

10. Information Security

Sensitive data is stored with AES-256 encryption on your device, and transmitted and stored on our cloud infrastructure with full encryption in transit and at rest. We apply access controls and industry-standard security measures. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and you are responsible for protecting your login credentials.

11. Notifications & Communication Preferences

We may send you reminder notifications only after you have explicitly enabled them in app settings. You can disable any notification at any time from the Settings page. We do not send marketing messages.

12. Minors' Privacy

WAEI is intended for individuals with full legal capacity (18 years or older). We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account and provided data to us, contact us immediately at info@getwaei.com to delete the account.

13. Your Rights under PDPL

• Request access to your personal data
• Request correction or update of inaccurate data
• Permanently and immediately delete your account and all data from within the app (see Section 14)
• Withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account
• File a complaint with the competent authorities in Saudi Arabia

14. Account Deletion

You may permanently delete your account from within the app (from the Profile page) at any time through a two-step verification: typing an explicit confirmation phrase, then entering a one-time verification code (OTP) sent to your registered email. Once deletion completes, all data associated with your account — expenses, income, financial plan, investments, and everything else — is permanently erased, with no grace period and no way to recover it; this action cannot be undone once performed.

For inquiries or complaints, contact us at info@getwaei.com. We may update this policy from time to time as our actual practices change. The updated version will be published in the app with an updated "Last updated" date.
